This fine dining spot within the Domes Zeen resort in Chania, Crete, offers guests a glimpse into Cretan culture and cuisine with a modern twist. The restaurant opens out onto an adjacent deck with a scenic view of the pool and ocean beyond.
With the concept of the ‘Modern Minoan’, the design celebrates the local wine-making tradition and craftsmanship in pottery and woodwork. With wine playing an important role in Greek culture, the idea of a ‘modern Katoi’ was born – the basement floor in every Cretan home that holds the all-important wine-mill.

Local wine mills are referenced in the bespoke table design, as well as in the feature wine mill offering a casual dining corner. The space brings together natural tactile materials such as wood, leather, and rattan, and a warm and welcoming colour palette.
